The opportunity

Why builders need a website

A building project is a big, slow decision. The owner has usually been talking to a few builders for weeks, and the ones who look credible online stay on the shortlist.

Big jobs need big trust

Someone about to spend six figures on a home checks you out before they ring. Your site is where that check happens.

Clients compare for weeks

A new-home buyer and a renovator both gather a few builders. A site that answers their questions keeps you in the running while they decide.

Finished work does the selling

Photos of completed homes, extensions and renos, sorted by type, let a client picture their own project.

Credentials separate you from the cowboys

Your registration number, insurance and association memberships, shown up front, answer the trust question early.

What’s included

Websites for builders: what we build

Every site is set up for how building clients decide: look at the finished work, check the credentials, then ask for a quote. We handle the copy, layout and Google setup.

Galleries by build type

New homes, extensions, renovations and outdoor works each get their own set of photos, so a client sees work like theirs.

Registration and membership strip

Your builder registration number and any HIA or Master Builders membership sit in the header and footer.

New build vs reno paths

Separate pages for each, because a knock-down-rebuild client and a kitchen reno client are asking different questions.

Quote form for projects

Asks for project type, suburb, rough budget range and timing, so you can qualify before you call back.

Click-to-call and clear contact

Easy to reach on every device.

Local setup

On-page SEO and a linked Google Business Profile, aimed at the suburbs you build in.

Not included

What the build price doesn't cover

So there are no surprises, here's what sits outside the flat build fee.

  • Hosting and management. Optional at $99/month, cancel anytime. You can host the site wherever you like.
  • Extra pages. Pages beyond your package are quoted upfront, before any work starts.
  • Logo and branding. Sold separately: logo design $300, brand identity kit $500, complete brand package $700.
  • Social media kit. A separate $500 add-on.
  • Automated lead follow-up. Missed-call text-back, instant replies and review requests are the Growth System at $397/month, not part of the website build.
  • Online shops and custom software. E-commerce, member portals and custom apps aren't part of any website package.
Built for builders

The pages a builder site actually needs

A single 'services' page can't speak to a new-home buyer and a renovator at once. On the 5-page and 10-page sites, each type of project gets a page written for the person asking.

New homes

Your build process from contract to handover, the kinds of home you build and the areas you work in. Clients compare builders page by page.

Extensions and second storeys

A page for owners who want more space without moving. Show finished extensions and say how you manage living on site.

Renovations

Kitchens, bathrooms and whole-house renos. Show before and after photos and explain how you quote and stage the work.

Knock-down-rebuilds

A longer decision with a bigger budget. Walk through the stages in plain words so the client knows what comes next.

Decks, pergolas and outdoor works

Smaller jobs that fill gaps between big ones. A short page keeps them coming to you.

Commercial and fit-outs

A different reader (a shop owner, a property manager), so a different page that talks about timelines and compliance.

What a builder's clients search for

These are the kinds of phrases that bring clients to a builder site. Your pages are written to match them, using your suburbs.

  • “home builders [suburb]”
  • “house extension builder Melbourne”
  • “knock down rebuild builder”
  • “kitchen renovation builder near me”
  • “second storey extension cost”
  • “domestic builder [suburb]”
  • “builder for granny flat”

A sample sitemap for a builder site

This is how a 10-page builder site could be laid out. The 5-page site keeps the first five and folds the rest in.

  1. Home. Registration strip, call button, top project types, suburbs.
  2. New homes. Process, house types, enquiry form.
  3. Extensions. Ground-floor and second-storey work.
  4. Renovations. Kitchens, bathrooms, whole-house renos.
  5. Knock-down-rebuilds. Stages from demolition to handover.
  6. Outdoor works. Decks, pergolas, outdoor rooms.
  7. Commercial. Fit-outs and small commercial builds.
  8. Project gallery. Finished work sorted by build type.
  9. About and credentials. Registration, insurance, memberships.
  10. Contact. Quote form, phone, areas covered.

Really happy with our new website from ScaleSites. It looks great and suits our construction business perfectly. The whole process was easy, communication was good, and everything was done when they said it would be. We didn't have to know anything about websites as they took care of it all. We would definitely recommend ScaleSites to any tradie or business needing a new website.
Response from Scalesites: Hey Cameron, thanks for taking the time to leave us a review and glad you love your new site.

Common questions

Builder website FAQs

How much does a builder website cost?

A flat $750 for the 5-page site (most popular), $500 for 3 pages or $1,190 for 10, with no hidden fees. Optional hosting and management is $99/month, cancel anytime. For DIY, freelancer and agency prices side by side, see what a tradie website costs.

Can you sort my completed projects by type?

Yes. The 5-page site includes a project gallery, and we group the photos by new homes, extensions and renovations so a client sees work like theirs.

Where does my builder registration number go?

In the header and footer of every page, plus the contact page. In Victoria, a registered building practitioner who advertises domestic building work must state the name they are registered under and their registration number, and your website counts as advertising. Check with the Building and Plumbing Commission, which replaced the Victorian Building Authority in July 2025, if you are unsure.

Can the site show my HIA or Master Builders membership?

Yes. Give us the membership details and any logo you are allowed to use, and we place them next to your registration number. Check your association's rules on using its logo first.

Do you build websites for renovators and extension specialists?

Yes. Builders, renovators and extension specialists all pay the same flat price. For most builders the $750 5-page site is the right fit: new builds, extensions and renovations each get their own page alongside a project gallery.

Will a website help me win larger jobs?

It gives serious clients what they check before they call: your finished work, your credentials and a clear way to ask for a quote. We can't promise a number of enquiries.

Do I own the website?

Completely. The domain, the site and the content are yours. There are no lock-in contracts and nothing is held hostage if you ever decide to move on.
